Cumbria.Digital have been delivering technology and broadcast services for over 20 years from developing innovative IoT devices and software developments across multiple sectors including Broadcasting, Media, Agriculture, Utilities, and the Property Sector and others through to having broadcasting a pan European Satellite TV service as well as supporting communities and small business to unlock the potential of digital technology.

The founder of Cumbria.Digital has a long history stretching back to the early 90's with Digital radio having been involved with early research and development on a project then called DRB “Digital Radio Broadcasting” building on Stereo sound and image encryption system developed for TV in the early 90's and the early European project that culminated in the launch of DAB in 1995. with consumer-grade DAB receivers appearing at the start of this millennium.

Taking forward decades of experience and our ethos of commitment to helping unlock the potential of digital technology for communities and business in Cumbria we are now working to bring small Small-scale digital broadcast radio capacity to Cumbria.

So that for the first time existing and new, community and commercial, radio services will be able to broadcast digitally using high quality DAB+ locally to communities in Cumbria.

Cumbria.Digital is now working to provide, in partnership, the necessary transmission infrastructure to make small scale DAB radio work for communities and local stations.

Cumbria.Digital are working to become a licensed broadcasting multiplex operator to deliver small scale DAB capacity for local community stations and commercial radio stations.

Cumbria.Digital is committed to opening up the potential of local community radio by supporting current and new community stations to broadcast on DAB through a collaborative partnership approach as well as supporting new and existing commercial stations to serve local communities in Cumbria.
